Introduction 
Our lab was established in 2001. Our main focus is on optical internet, Ethernet, and high speed Ethernet. We also investigate merging internet and cable television systems and explore the practical applications for this technology. We are involved in optical manufacture and optical communication system coupling. In addition, we strive to develop technicians with practical 「hands on」 knowledge.

1. Fiber-Optic Communication—
  (1) In active components: the light source of fiber optical communication, detector, etc.
  (2) In passive components: coupler, connector, etc.
  (3) In fiber optical communication systems: WDM, amplification, noise reduction, etc.
2. Fiber Optical CATV Systems—
   The performance and noise analysis for CATV system.
3. Fiber-Optic Communication—
  (1) The fiber amplifier applications in digital telecom network and analog CATV transmission system.
  (2) Linear and nonlinear characteristic of fiber amplifier.
4. Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM)—
  (1) Stimulated Brillouin Scattering
  (2) EDFA principles
  (3) EDFA gain flattening
  (4) DWDM MUX/DeMUX
  (5) Nonlinear effect
  (6) Analog WDM
  (7) Digital WDM
